Culture you’ll find at Spite Fitness

When Alex & Richelle White moved into their tiny home, they did not just want a house—they wanted a sustainable lifestyle. Their new place in Sebastopol, is powered entirely by solar energy and features a compostable toilet, making it the perfect fit for this eco-conscious couple.

Sustainable living

A Home Aligned with Their Values

The White Family had always prioritized sustainability, recycling diligently and sourcing from ethical brands. Their new home took their commitment further: solar panels provide 100% of their energy, and a compostable toilet turns waste into nutrient-rich compost, saving water and reducing their environmental footprint.

Adjusting to a Greener Life

The transition came with a learning curve. The compostable toilet took some getting used to, every week it had to be manually taken out, and mixed with biochar to be garden ready. Plus, they had to learn to be efficient because the sun produced a certain amount each day. They adopted a smart energy monitor that helped them track consumption and production, making them more mindful of their habits.

The Setup

The Rewards of Sustainability

The benefits were immediate. Their energy bills dropped to zero. Compostable toilet provided fertilizer for their garden, and the couple felt a deeper connection to the environment

Inspiring Others

Alex & Richelle lifestyle has sparked inspiration. I found community here at Spite Fitness. Most of the people I have met in this world have a mentality that we are inheriting this world from our parents, and we can do what we want with it. You rarely meet someone who acts as if we are borrowing this world from our children, and we should be good stewards of it. As I come to the gym and meet other people, its clear there are others with similar stories who are motivated to make positive change. After just a few weeks of collaboration. We are now looking to make choice food with Solar BBQ’s, support community gardens. and host community cleanups- and we're just getting started.
